Thinkific vs LearnWorlds: Simple or Fully Branded?
LearnWorlds offers interactive video and true white-label. Thinkific offers less friction. Here is which fits your course, and what each tier costs.

Pick Thinkific if you want a course live this week and you do not care whether the platform’s name appears anywhere. Pick LearnWorlds if the course has to look like your product, not a hosted page — and if interactive video, learning paths or a client-facing academy are part of the plan.
Thinkific vs LearnWorlds is a trade of setup speed against control over the finished experience. Both are strong platforms. They are aimed at different ambitions.
Bottom line
- LearnWorlds has the better learner experience and true white-label, one tier up.
- Thinkific is faster to launch and has no per-enrollment fees on any plan.
- LearnWorlds’ cheapest plan carries a $5 fee per enrollment and locks out its best features.

The entry-plan trap on LearnWorlds
LearnWorlds looks like the cheaper option at around $29/month. It is not, for two reasons.
First, that plan charges roughly $5 per enrollment. Sell a $49 course to 40 people and you have paid about $200 in enrollment fees on top of the subscription. Sell a $500 course to the same 40 and $200 is noise. The fee is flat, so it punishes low-priced courses hardest.
Second, the features that make people want LearnWorlds are not on it. No interactive video, no learning paths, no certificates, no free courses as lead magnets. You are paying for a course host without the reason you chose the host.
The plan you actually want is the middle tier at roughly $99/month, which drops the enrollment fee to zero and unlocks the interactive tooling. Compare that against Thinkific, not the $29 headline.
Thinkific’s pricing is boring, which is the point
Thinkific’s entry plan sits at around $54/month with unlimited courses, one community space and a custom domain. No platform cut on sales. The next tier up, roughly $109/month, adds live cohorts with unlimited Zoom sessions, completion certificates, graded assignments, payment plans and memberships.
Removing Thinkific branding happens on its higher tier at around $219/month, which also brings three communities, API access and B2B group orders.
So the branding story is inverted between these two. LearnWorlds gives you full white-label at its middle-to-upper tier as a headline feature. Thinkific treats unbranding as an upsell at a price point where LearnWorlds is already fully white-label.
If an unbranded student experience is non-negotiable and your budget is around $100/month, LearnWorlds wins that specific fight.
Interactive video: worth it or not?
LearnWorlds’ interactive video lets you put questions, buttons, links and branching choices directly inside a lesson video. Learners answer in-frame instead of scrolling to a quiz.
Is it a gimmick? For a $47 mini-course, honestly yes — nobody buys because the video has clickable overlays. For three things it is genuinely valuable:
- Compliance and certification training, where you need proof a learner engaged, not just that the video played.
- Language, technical and skills courses where checking understanding every two minutes changes completion rates.
- Selling training to companies, where the buyer is comparing you to a corporate LMS and wants to see interactivity on the demo call.
If none of those describe you, do not pay extra for it. Thinkific’s quizzes and graded assignments cover the normal case.
Learner caps versus student caps
This is the constraint most comparisons skip.
LearnWorlds meters monthly active learners. Its entry plan allows around 1,000; the tiers above it allow around 2,000, with custom limits at the enterprise level. That is generous for most creators and a real ceiling for anyone running a large free course or a big membership.
Thinkific does not cap students on the plans a solo creator would buy. It caps digital product types, community spaces and admin seats instead.
Translation: if you expect a lot of low-paying or free learners, Thinkific’s model is friendlier. If you have fewer, higher-paying learners, LearnWorlds’ caps will never bother you.
Cohorts, coaching and communities
Thinkific’s live cohort tooling is the stronger offering for scheduled group teaching — unlimited live sessions, certificates on completion and graded work all sit on its middle plan. If you teach in a start-date-to-end-date format, that is the feature set to buy.
LearnWorlds handles communities and subscriptions well and layers on an automation engine and advanced reporting higher up, plus support for multiple client groups on its upper tier. That last one matters if you sell the same academy to several companies and each needs its own walled space.
If community is the product rather than a course bonus, neither of these is the cheapest answer — a dedicated community platform is. We cover that in Skool vs Circle.
Who should pick Thinkific
- You want to launch in days, not weeks, with a platform that will not fight you.
- You sell direct to individuals at normal course prices and want zero platform cut.
- You run live cohorts with certificates and graded assignments.
- You are relaxed about a small amount of platform branding, or you will grow into the tier that removes it.
Start a Thinkific trial — 30 days, no card required, which is enough time to build the whole thing before you pay.
Who should pick LearnWorlds
- The course has to feel like your brand end to end, with no visible platform.
- You sell training to companies, or run several client academies from one account.
- Interactive video, learning paths or certificates are part of what you are actually selling.
- Your course prices are high enough that per-learner economics are comfortable.
Start a LearnWorlds trial — and build on the middle tier, not the $29 plan, or you will be evaluating the wrong product.
FAQ
Is LearnWorlds harder to set up than Thinkific?
Yes, moderately. LearnWorlds gives you more control over page structure and branding, and control means decisions. Expect a couple of extra days. Thinkific’s templates get you to something presentable faster with less fiddling.
Can I remove platform branding on Thinkific’s cheaper plans?
No. Branding removal arrives on Thinkific’s higher tier. You can use a custom domain from the entry plan, which handles most of the perception problem, but the platform’s name stays visible in places until you upgrade.
Which is better for selling courses to companies?
LearnWorlds, for most cases. Client groups, white-label, SSO and SCORM at the upper tiers are what corporate buyers ask about. Thinkific does have B2B group orders and invoicing on its higher plan, so it is not out of the running — just less specialized.
Do I still need a separate email tool?
Plan on it with either platform. Both include enough email to run receipts, course announcements and simple sequences. Neither replaces a dedicated creator email platform once you are segmenting a list or running launches.
Our call
Most creators reading this should take Thinkific, use the full 30 days to build, and spend the saved setup time on getting an audience. The exception is real and worth naming: if you are selling a branded academy, teaching something that needs interactivity, or pitching companies, LearnWorlds at its middle tier is the better product and the branding control is worth the extra work.
